A Native ChatGPT App for the Next Generation of Travel Search

We set out to be the first Australian OTA with a native ChatGPT app
As user behaviour shifts toward AI-led searching, OpenAI's store has become a new starting point for travel research and we wanted to be there for it. The brief had two halves, be early, and be useful. Leading design direction across hotels and flights and focused on a single principle: show just enough to build trust, surface the right options, and move the customer into Webjet's funnel ready to convert.



The design had three jobs: honour the new identity, hold the line on performance, and open up ground for marketing and partner assets the old homepage couldn't accommodate.
Behaviour is shifting fast. Our customers are letting AI tools do the heavy lifting: comparing, summarising, narrowing, long before they reach the booking site. The work had to meet that shift, less product detail, fewer decisions on the surface, and a clean path back to the full experience when the customer was ready. Showing up here isn't optional anymore. It's where the journey now begins.
